North Carolina-native, Sam Higgins, makes music under the moniker of SMLH.
The 17-year-old creates wonderfully hazy melodies which you’ll be able to hear in his single “Neon Visions”, but also has a refreshing affinity for pushing the envelope and making what he calls “fake songs”, which could either be incredibly loud, or breathy and ambient.
Higgins is planning on releasing his first full-length, come fall of this year.
Fun fact: “Neon Visions” was recorded to 1/4″ tape, using a Tascam 388 (and Lipton Diet Green Tea).
You can download the single and a beautiful 13-minute guitar track for free, on his Bandcamp page.
